To witness a friend and fellow APTs be highlighted in such a way felt momentous in that it showed those watching experiences which echoed my own from the pandemic. I did not feel able to discuss them emotionally with anyone outside of my work until now. (2/4)
Most importantly, reactions like Allison Pearson’s demonstrate how our relationship with death is bizarre beyond belief in some cases. It is baffling why some feel it is better to ignore and shut away the truth about death than face it in a healthy and open way. (3/4)
We do all know that we will all die one day. Deciding you want to ignore that and the number of deaths from the way the pandemic was handled in this country is utterly nonsensical to me. How can we learn, progress and move forward by denying and not acknowledging it? (4/4)
