TW Holocaust

When I was younger, I was obsessed with reading about the Holocaust. I felt certain it would happen again and that I needed to be prepared, somehow. All the stories my country wanted me to believe were that Jews were helpless.

We weren’t and aren’t. 1/6
The Jewish resistance blew up railroads, took over camps, and was the reason many Jews survived. And it wasn’t just peaceful resistance. Jews armed themselves when they could. But we were up against an entire world that was indifferent at best. 2/6 https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/jewish-resistance
By the time camps were liberated, at least 6 million Jews were dead. Entire families were decimated. Many of us have no idea what happened to our families...they just vanish off the records. So we’re left with our imaginations. 3/6
No one can fully explain how the Holocaust could happen. How the world could know and do nothing. But as antisemitism continues to rise daily today, we need to be aware that something like it could happen again. Defend Jews. Educate yourself. Don’t give Nazis platforms. 4/6
If you’re a goy, make yourself uncomfortable. Look at the videos and pictures from the Holocaust. Understand how traumatizing it is for us when you make a Holocaust joke, when our ancestors were burned alive in barns, shot point blank, experimented on... 5/6
Share our stories. Remember those who were murdered. 6/6
