My thoughts on Content Creators, Influence, Brand, Audience/Community Relationships, how they all tie together, and the responsibility of the creator. (my earlier tweet felt two brief).

Ok, let's gooooooo

(1/9)
Content Creators, specifically live streamers, ARE influencers. They may not see themselves as such, but they are.

Regardless of audience size and reach, you are putting yourself, your thoughts, and your idea(l)s out there for others to connect with.

(2/9)
Live Stream Content Creators have a brand that often is a mirror image of themselves. Their brand story, brand identity, etc. is essentially who they are as a person.

The foundation of these brands are built on the creator's morals, integrity, passions, etc.

(3/9)
Audience who choose to support a creator does so based on their connection with that creator's brand, a connection likely based on something they see in themselves, or relate to personally.

So what does that mean?

(4/9)
It means a creator's audience is a reflection of who they are or perceived to be, just as much as their brand, because the two are intimately connected.

BUT, that's not to say a creator is 100% culpable for what their audience says /does.

So what's the take-away here?

(5/9)
Creator's, as influencers, connect with an audience based on morals and ideals through messaging and actions.

The attracted audience (re)acts accordingly based on who they are within the guidelines of that creator's influence.

It's a two-way street.

(6/9)
If the audience (re)acts in a harmful or negative manner, it is the creator's responsibility to course correct their messaging and actions to make clear who they are and what they do (not) stand for.

Deflecting or dismissing is akin to promoting.

(7/9)
If the creator has a bad take that is within "character", and the audience promotes/defends that bad take, the ball is then in the creator's court to either stay the course or correct the course.

This then becomes a part of their brand & identity.

(8/9)
End-0f-Day: As creators, audience is a reflection of who we are, and a large piece of our brand & identity. We need to treat them as such, respectfully, not ignore them when convenient, and not use them as justification for bad takes, lest that is who you really are.
