This is a disused bridge on the old route of the Yatton-Clevedon railway, a 3½-mile branch line. It closed in 1966 and the old route around Yatton station was filled by housing developments in the 90s.
The old route of the line has been partially rebuilt as a shared use path along the recent Chestnut Park estate.
The path has not been completed, instead it ends abrubtly before reaching the overbridge carrying Lampley Road.
The path is planned to link to Lampley Road, therefore creating a safe cycling link to Clevedon using quiet country lanes.
