There are many projects that excite me as a City Councillor, one of the top being the potential of University Ave. W. There are three factors that distinguish this road that together are unmatched in our region. 1/4
First, the width of the road. This unique feature provides the right foundation to build a complete street. We have an opportunity to get it right and this road should be the example! 2/4
Second, its vicinity to the water. Having a bustling commercial and residential corridor walking distance to our most treasured public space is a key feature that we should take advantage of more than we are. 3/4
Third, the connecting link between our University & downtown core. This road will naturally encourage seamless movement of students & residents who will live & patronize the small businesses throughout, & create a more vibrant, livable, & walkable neighbourhood in Riverwest! 4/4
