What enhanced measures will be implemented to keep COVID out of schools (a better, simpler screening tool & improved communication re: tool to parents? Paid caregiver leave to facilitate its use? Exclusion of family members of people with symptoms while tests are pending?)? /2
What measures are being operationalized to keep COVID from spreading in schools (universal or targeted reductions in bus occupancy & class sizes? Deployment of mobile PCR testing when cases are identified)? /3
In order to get the majority of ON students back to class ASAP, what escalating strategies is @fordnation prepared to use to achieve & sustain lower community COVID rates? Supported closure of non-essential manufacturing? /4
Stable & safest in-person schooling has not been prioritized by @fordnation. Instead, the government has chosen policy options that have created the conditions for disrupted schooling. /5
Safest and enduring return-to-school requires @fordnation to pivot from a permissive pandemic strategy to the #CanadianShield near-elimination strategy.
Students, families, ed staff & boards need transparency & action from @ONeducation to plan for the weeks (months?) ahead. /6
