One last thought (well, 🧵):

Covering the pandemic has been traumatizing for journalists. We spend hours a day listening to, absorbing and recounting pain, grief, fear and anger. Then, we get pummeled with hate from people who think we're lying about it.
Lords helped us through this. She encouraged us to take breaks when we needed to. (Personally, she was patient with me and just kinda let me do my thing, knowing I was maxed out on stress.) Her firing was an overreaction that destabilized us at the worst possible time.
But we're a resilient team. This morning, we are back at it. Doing the work. Knowing it's a privilege to deliver information that people want and need. Chadd is a truly wonderful person, so I feel good about our future.
But we still desperately need your good will and your advocacy. Please support the @IdahoNewsGuild as we keep pushing for better working conditions, including the tools and corporate cooperation we need to do our jobs.
And for goodness sake, pay for local news! We cannot do this for free. http://idahostatesman.com/subscribe
