hear me out,,, so after shinichi returns to his body and everyone's moved on, do you think he still pops in mouri's detective agency just to go on cases with kogoro again? maybe he just misses it yknow? so he convinces kogoro to let him tag along again +
and of course shinichi could easily solve the case in minutes since he's in his own body now, but he doesn't want that. he wants to help kogoro figure it out on his own. maybe shinichi feels guilty because for so long he had been using kogoro as his puppet to solve cases +
and now that kogoro has this reputation of a great detective, he'll be in trouble if he can't solve cases on his own. so shinichi goes with him and just points little things out, in the same way that he did when he was conan. and of course kogoro hates it at first +
because he doesn't want shinichi's help. but at the same time, he's grateful for it. and it becomes a fun way for the two of them to compete. kogoro realizes that shinichi's deductions and observational skills are unmatched, so he tries to do the same +
he assesses every detail of the crime scene, and carefully thinks through all the possibilities, all so he can finally beat kudo and prove that he really was a great detective. and shinichi is thrilled because he loves being challenged. and the best part was +
kogoro was improving!!! he starts to piece things together on his own. eventually he doesn't need shinichi's help at all. but they still go on cases together, just for old times sake :)
so ya imagine if kogoro got some actual character development
