I grew up w crippling anxiety.
I was a post-grad in college & hired to teach a class of 30 students.
I felt sick to my stomach each time, negative thoughts racing thru my head:
“Why do I have to feel so stressed?”
“Why can’t I be normal?”
I had ZERO tolerance for discomfort.

The important first step was to realize that I was NOT my thoughts.
Developing the skill of being mindful of my thoughts and letting them go was very helpful.
The formal practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) deals with this a lot.

How do u build Tolerance For Discomfort?
Don't resist negative emotions. It only makes them stronger
Accept the discomfort. Explore what it feels like, including physically
Ask questions:
-Why does X bother me so much?
-How would a healthy, happy person deal w these thoughts?

The more you frame it this way, you’ll begin to detach from these emotional reactions.
