Where is the additional $520M coming from?

Sen. Guy Guzzone, D-Howard Co, chairs the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee. He says some money is coming from Rainy Day Fund.

But he says it is “largely possible right now because of the actions from the Biden Administration.”
NEW: Sen. Klausmeier is explaining the unemployment insurance benefit package included in the Senate amendment.

She says there are approx. 40K Marylanders in “adjudication purgatory” and plan will offer 1-time payments of $1K to them.

Additionally, she says the amendment includes funding for 47 additional workers in the Department of Labor, not only to help with the adjudication process, but to “simply answer the phones.”
