On the occasion of 🇮🇳 #RepublicDay yesterday, here's my part as a friendly neighbour🇧🇩😉:-

A thread documenting the history behind this auspicious day, some fabulous pictures from this year's parades and a touch of analysis on the constitution of the Republic of #India! https://twitter.com/sidhant/status/1353929278455508992
#RepublicDay is celebrated every year in 🇮🇳 since Jan 26, 1950 to commemorate the date on which the Constitution of 🇮🇳 came into effect replacing the Gov. of India Act (1935) as the governing document of 🇮🇳 and thus, turning the nation into a newly formed republic.
The Constituent Assembly, which first met on 9 December 1946, took precisely 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to come up with the final draft.

Original Constitution of India was handwritten by Prem Behari Narain Raizada.
Did you know that the preambles itself was taken inspiration from the constitution of the United States, the temple of democracy? 👀

And oh, India is constitutionally a socialist secular democratic republic! 😉
Part III clause 12 shows Shri Rama, Laxmana and Goddess Sita in the fundamental rights section.

Isn't that perfectly fitting?😄

Also, the calligraphy is nothing short of outstanding aesthetics!
Directive principles of state policy, Part IV, Clause 36 and 37:-
Lord Buddha in the 'Union' section. Part V, clauses 52 and 53.
Self explanatory who this is, eh?😅
This is Nataraja, who is seen to be dancing.
Part XII revolves around finances and the fiscal aspects of a sovereign nation's economy.
Well Well Well...

Here's Emperor Akbar honoured under the services under the union and the states section, Part 14.

I have my reservations on his part to preserve his own union effectively, but a significant part of the history of the Indian Subcontinent!
Chhatrapati Shivaji and Guru Govind Singh...🔥❤️

Don't think any formal introduction is particularly required but Shivaji was a emperor of the Maratha Empire, while Guru Govind Singh was the 10th and final human Sikh Guru.

This is Part 15 in the 'Elections' section.
Here's two of the bravest fights of the Indian revolutionary war of independence, Rani of Jhansi, Lakshmi Bai alongside Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore! 🔥

This is section 16, for 'Special Provisions relating to certain classes'.
And of course, the father of the republic of India, Mahatma Gandhiji. He is seen in sections 17 and 18, for 'Official Languages' and 'Emergency provisions' respectively.
One of the biggest patriots of Bharat, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, depicted in an apt picture of him saluting the tri-colour! 🇮🇳

This is section 19, Miscellaneous.
Lastly, to conclude this part of constitutional analysis, here's the official emblem of the Republic of India, enshrined in her sophisticated constitution as the largest democracy (and constitution!) in the world!
Now, here's some celebrations from this year's #RepublicDay parade:-

Some of my own favourites will be attached in the following 5 to 10 tweets!🙂
The Union territory of Ladakh!
Chhattisgarh's tribal cultures and sheer beauty!
West Bengal's depiction of education, knowledge and understanding!🙂

Very apt for us Bengalis...😂
Sikkim fully showcasing it's indigenous cultures.
Kerala's Coconuts!
India's strides digitally and technologically on full show here! The goal of being leaders of the 4th industrial revolution looks very promising!🙂

#Technology
Some respects to it's work force, national leaders and a show of unity.
That concludes this thread!
I thoroughly hope that all of you enjoyed reading this!

Please do share this, and consider following my handle too!

With that being said, a very happy belated #RepublicDay to all my Indian friends!

Namaste!🙏

Warm Regards from Bangladesh!
