So... the launch went way better than we'd hoped, and was extra special as it was the first $ @pabloheredia24 had ever made on the internet! 🎉

24 hours later we have $2,754.20 in pre-orders.

Some thoughts on why it exceeded our expectations...

👍 We offered a limited number (20) of heavily discounted (75%+) early bird options.

This was suggested by @JanelSGM and @pabloheredia24 agreed. I was reluctant as I was worried it was too cheap.

It meant the first 20 sales came in within an hour of launching...
...which generated a buzz on Twitter with people saying "I just bought this" rather than "I'm not buying this but you might want to".

This made a big difference.

Once these sold out we held our breath worrying if that would be where sales stopped.

Thankfully it wasn't.
Less than an hour later we made our first sale in the more expensive (but still discounted) price bracket.

As Pablo rightly said, this was a huge win.

Although sales had slowed after prices doubled, they continued to come in quite rapidly.
👍 Advice from the @LaunchMBA community and from @JanelSGM proved invaluable.

I had originally priced the entire product in GBP.

Janel said it would hurt conversions cos people are used to USD. In fact she said she would buy it but only if I changed it to USD.

I changed it.
👍 I only posted it on Twitter.

Pablo posted it in some Slack communities and sent out some emails. The conversion rate from emails and communities was 🔥.
👍 15 months of regular tweets, engaging with the #nocode Twitter community, recording occasional tutorials or hosting sessions, sliding into DMs, jumping onto Zoom calls, joining communities, making bad jokes etc really paid off.

Twitter repaid the love in a big way.
😱 Real talk - it is terrifying selling something that you haven't yet made. Nothing could make that feeling go away.

But the feeling we'd get if we spent 100 hours making it only to find no-one wants it would be much worse.

Now we have so much more motivation to do it.
