2/5 We have gathered data examining shirt sponsorships across Europe's big-5 leagues over the last twenty years

Some interesting patterns have emerged, especially pertaining gambling

English Premier League's engagement with gambling brands remains on an upward trajectory
3/5 This is what a closer look at shirt sponsorships in the English Premier League revealed - gambling brands are now the most frequent shirt sponsors
4/5 Spain's La Liga also interesting, firstly because of a post-financial crash bounce in gambling sponsorships and then more recently for another upsurge (possibly ahead of changes in domestic gambling regulations)
5/5 Germany's Bundesliga, France's Ligue 1 & Italy's Serie A have very limited engagement with gambling sponsors. Landscape is completely different.
