There are two sides in wrestling and those are the sexual predators/abusers and the rest of us.

Infighting, one-upmanship and gleeful pile-ons only aids the abusers by preoccupying ourselves with distrust and exclusion of allies.

I am guilty of this too.
Trauma is complex and trauma responses aren't logical. These things are not cut-and-dry.

The day you make a mistake, you will wish that others have empathy for you in ways you did not have for others.

We do not always think normally in the moment.
Fans, wrestlers, referees, promoters, crew: we are on the same side.

This connection is so unbelievably fragile.

We have to protect each other.

We have to trust each other with the context of the bigger picture.

This doesnt mean our hurt, PTSD or trauma responses are invalid.
We lack available education, resources and professional support to navigate this in ways that reduces harm.

A good community promotes love, acceptance, forgiveness and accountability.

Wrestling was never developed in this way. It has always favoured trickery, deceit and abuse.
I don't know where I'm going with this 😅 I just have a lot of thoughts in my head, so thanks for reading.

Honestly, I have been constantly flip flopping between continuing with wrestling and leaving it completely (I do not blame anyone who chooses the latter).
