Mornin!
I get quite a few people hitting me up to ask my advice for how to reach out to editors.
I’m gonna make a quick thread with what I know + have done. If anyone else has tips to tack on please do.

Most publications have pitch/ submission information listed on their contact page. Links are typically at the very bottom of their site. Or you Can Google “submit to ____” and see if their submissions page comes up.
Another tactic is to search Twitter. Most editors (
) are on here and the pubs we edit for are listed in our bio.
So search the pub name on Twitter and tap “people” to view bio content. Do not DM these people unless they explicitly say their DM’s are open for pitches.

Another hack is to Google publications email formats. Some are first and last name + publication domain. Others are just first name.
Trust me, you can Google this very easily.

When I first started pitching I was always really weirded out by how hard it was to find out who to pitch to.
But editors inboxes get tons of emails (plus spam and PR) every day and now I think it’s just to keep things a bit more streamlined for editorial teams.
K, bye!
