Today is #HolocaustMemorialDay . Guided by the work of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust @HMD_UK and Jewish people worldwide, I am reflecting on what we can do at @NHS_SWLA to highlight and celebrate the voices of religious communities within our NHS. (Thread, 1 of 8).
Today's date is significant. 27 January 1945 was the date when the Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated @AuschwitzMuseum. The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust invites us to remember those murdered for who they were, and to stand against prejudice and hatred. (Thread, 2 of 8).
The UK Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 ceremony will be streamed online today, at 7pm, and can be watched via https://www.hmd.org.uk/ceremony . Those who are able to do so safely are invited to light a candle in their window at 8pm. #LightTheDarkness . (Thread, 3 of 8).
