Sometimes you get words of prophecies that so so and so would happen at so so and so time. They may or may not come to pass. Why do some prophecies about you come to pass and some don't? Did God change His mind?

Let me say this first. The things that God gives, He doesn't take back. There is a way to win with Prophecies. You are wondering why the prophecy doesn't just come to pass abi. Well, that's bcos the end & future of a man is primarily in his own hands, not in the hands of God.
Paul the Apostle in 1 Tim 1:18 charged his spiritual son Timothy to fight a good warfare by recalling the prophecies once made about him. He said that bcos Timothy was going to face some opposition in carrying out the ministry entrusted to him.

In life, there is warfare. There will be opposition & contrary circumstances to what you want. But with Prophecies, you can disallow the opposition from having effect. 1 Cor 12:7 says that the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good

Prophecies are a manifestation of the spirit. They are given for us to profit. 1 Cor 14:2 shows that prophecies builds up, encourages and comforts men. So how do you profit from them? How do you win with Prophecies?

1. You must first discern if that prophecy given to you by someone else is from God.

2. Believe and receive them with joy. The prophecies that form a part of your experience and benefit you in life are the ones you believe and receive. We see examples in Judges 4:4-10, 2 Kings 7
3. You must carry a consciousness of the prophecies you have received. Don't just write them in your diaries, keep them on your mind, in your meditations and in your confessions.

Apostle Paul said in 1 Tim 4:14-15 that the way to profit from prophecies is to meditate on them
The Apostle Peter also said in 2 Peter 2:19 that we should pay attention to prophecies the way we would use a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and you no longer require a lamp.

And if anybody or thing tells you that the prophecies given to you are too many, don't believe them.
Do you know that everything about Jesus was prophesied. Do you know that everything about Jesus was prophesied? - His birth, name, Death, ministry, resurrection, glorification etc
Hebrews 10:5-8 explains the prophecy in Psalms 40:5-7. Jesus came to fulfill all that was written about him and glory to God, He fulfilled them all. He knew he was going to die and be resurrected, knew the pharisees and leaders of the Jews would reject him. Psalm 23:4, 16:10....
Jesus knew the prophecies concerning him, He proclaimed it so much that people quoted His claims. See John 12:24, John 10:15, Matt 26:61, Matt 27:63-64, Mark 14:58. Jesus affirmed the prophecies concerning him with his speech. Do the same. Selah.
