Bahrain’s economy loses 3.8% of GDP each year due to #NCDs

If done now, realistic health interventions would avert 15,000 deaths over 15 years

Today a joint investment case was launched by @MOH_Bahrain, @UNDP, @un_ncd, @WHOEMRO and the Gulf Health Council

Results....
The losses from NCDs are expected to approach last year’s economic shock from COVID-19.

But the prevention and clinical packages recommended would save $1.7 billion by 2034, and add 87,000 years of life for Bahrain’s people
