Habemus Numbers!!! During 2020’s Q4 Earnings Report (OCT-DEZ), AT&T revealed #HBOMax added 8.5M activations to its subscriptions base, ending DEZ with 17.1M activations, a 98.8% boost from 8.6M on Q3.
Incl HBO, #WM finished 2020 with 41.5M US subscribers, beating 36M projection
That’s a 20.3% increase in comparison DEC 2019, when HBO, with 34.5M US subscribers, was facing a downtrend since #GameOfThrones’s end, which has been reverted by HBOMax.
#TheFlightAttendant started Q4 saving the day, #WonderWoman1984 ended it saving #HBOMax’s world.
From those 41M total subscribers, 30.8M have the right to use #HBOMax, but 17.1M out of those have activated the service so far and 6.9M are brand new subscribers
6.9M paying subscribers still don’t know they can use it, or preferred to watch the traditional HBO channels instead.
