You know, you get caught in the semantics of every insane conversation, and then you realize, it's just the pre-game warm-up to full-on authoritarianism.

The arguments seem nuts until you realize what they mean is "Do what you're fucking told, when you're told."

"Give us your tax dollars for our church school."

"We like small government except when it comes to women's health and getting bailouts for the wealthy straight from your taxes."

The arguments are senseless, and then you realize it's just "Fuck you, we're in charge."

THEN you can look at the attempted coup of January 6 and realize how the same people who "back the blue" could excuse the murder of brave, dutiful police officers:

They got in the way.

They've been trying to tell us all, "Fuck you, we're in charge, now shut the fuck up."

And that's why we have to go through with impeachment, every prosecution, and every possible investigation.

Because America reached the crossroads of: either the rule of law and reason governs here, or pure, hideous, shut-your-fucking-mouth power.

And you've picked your team.

And here's why I pick rule of law and reason:

Every place that pure, ugly power rules over reason, life is a never-ending series of moments wondering when the next faction is going to knife the current rulers and create the exact same tyranny. Instead of building nice things.

So COVID-19 mask policy isn't about health.

It's about whether you accept that some thug in a suit will tell you to die on command, and whether you'll obey.
