Did you know that in 2019, only 37% of young people doing GCSEs from Whitehawk, Manor Farm and Bristol Estate in East Brighton achieved A-C equivalent in Maths and English, while our citywide attainment was 69%. That is a crushing #brightongradesgap of 32%.

2/ Did you know our communities in East Brighton in affluent 'charming' Sussex, UK rank in the Top 1% LEAST advantaged for education, skills and training in England for *at least* the last 15 years? So this problem isn't new, it's just ignored...
3/ And did you know, good people of Brighton, despite knowing this there's no dedicated, shared plan from @BrightonHoveCC to change this unfair reality? We had to fight for this data. 3 meetings with Councillors and officers led to zero action. Is this OK? Would you accept it?

5/ Tomorrow, our spokesperson is giving a 5 minute 'deputation' speech to the full council @BrightonHoveCC. We will brief MPs, we will speak to the media, most importantly, we will work with families - as we did to resolve Free School Meals issues in local schools.
6/ We need your support. We are fighting for fairer educational outcomes for the young people of East Brighton, to create happier, healthier lives. We won't stop until change happens and the results get better. Join us to make our city better for *everyone*.
