One of the worst things about Britain's catastrophic failure over Coronavirus is that anyone who knew anything about Boris Johnson and the Tories KNEW that we would fail. KNEW we'd fail more than almost anywhere else. And KNEW they'd just lie about it and blame everyone else.
There's no hindsight involved here. It's the Tories: a corrupt, venal shower who've delighted in wreaking havoc and destroying millions of lives for 40 bloody years.

To all those who voted Tory: what the fuck did you expect? Goldfish learn more quickly than you lot.
I will always continue to note that the death toll from austerity - hundreds of thousands - resulted in so many of those who are appalled now, even grieving now, never batting an eye.

Britain became a sick, barbaric society long before Covid. And most people didn't care.
If you lay down with dogs, you get fleas.

But 30-40% of the electorate will never learn that even if their lives depend on it.
Even in the face of all this, there's STILL millions and millions who think Johnson has "done a good job" and say things like "thank God Corbyn didn't get in - can you imagine it?"

Yes. We just CANNOT HAVE a humane man who cares about people trying to save their lives, can we?
Instead, let's destroy and demonise him. Let's destroy and demonise his supporters too.

And then, let's wail about the government you enabled (if you're a centrist) or defend its corrupt, criminal negligence (if you're a Tory).

And let's never, ever look in a fucking mirror.
Millions out there still buy the Heil. Still buy the Sun. Still buy the Express. Still treat the state propaganda service like it's gospel. And do not question a single damn thing about the excrement they swallow each and every day.
Millions out there were absolutely FINE with the poor being demonised, immigrants being demonised, THE DISABLED being demonised, and with no pay rises for key workers for a fucking decade.

Just as long as their house values rose astronomically.
Just as long as homes remained unfit for human habitation. Just as long as they could profit like leeches from disgusting rent prices. Just as long as they could vote to destroy the very thing - the welfare state - that makes any society civilised.
"God bless Rishi!" Like this fucking multibillionaire and hedge fund manager has the remotest fucking clue. "Oooh, isn't Boris funny?", they chorused about a serial racist, gaslighter and someone who won't even take responsibility for his own children.
Oh, and this too. "Please don't cut universal credit! Please!"

I quite agree. So where the fuck were you when it was slashed to levels below even basic subsistence in the first place? I know: you were fucking voting for that. The poorest and most vulnerable could get stuffed.
What's happened in Britain over the last 11 years is on the Conservative Party, their Lib Dem enablers, the clueless, venal, lying Labour right, almost the entirety of an offshore tax dodging oligarchy-owned 'free press', the BBC... and substantial proportions of the public.
Who voted and voted and voted and voted AGAIN for the Face Eating Leopard Party... and now act all shocked and surprised when it's their faces being chewed off.
One further thing. All those Remainers who KNOW about all lies told about Brexit. All those centrists who KNOW about all the lies and corruption over the last year around the Tories' handling of Covid.

You'd think, wouldn't you, they might just stop and ask themselves...
"So we were lied to over Brexit, we've been lied to over Covid, we were lied to over austerity... maybe the idea that a kind, compassionate man who grows his own marrows and looks like a garden gnome is Hitler reincarnated was a lie as well?"

But nope. Cognitive dissonance rules
Wake up. Wake the fuck up. Pay attention for once in your smug, self-satisfied lives.

Because if you don't, THIS is what happens instead.
