Byzantine Catholic martyrs who refused to schism when pressured by the USSR. Who were going to be made Patriarchs and bishops but they knew that nothing was worth schism

Blessed Valeriu Traian Frențiu was a Romanian a Greek Catholic bishop that was appointed as Bishop of Oradea.
He was arrested on 28 October 1948 and then the refused to become Romanian Orthodox. In 1950 arrived in Sighet Prison, where, after two years, died on 11 July 1952.
Blessed Vasile Aftenie 🇷🇴

Khomyshyn was a critic of the Soviets having called the occupying forces "fierce beasts animated by the devil" he was arrested again in 1945 and was then deported to Kiev he was tortured and advised to renounce the Union of Brest which he refused to do

He was killed by the Soviets. The Ruthenian Catholic Church was relentlessly persecuted and in 1949, it was officially suppressed. All of its properties were allocated to the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Blessed Hieromartyr Klymentiy Sheptytsky, 

On 5 June 1947 The Blessed Hieromartyr Klymentiy Sheptytsky himself was arrested by Soviet and finally, after his steadfast refusal to renounce his faith and serve the Moscow Patriarchate, sentenced to eight years imprisonment.
The Studite brothers in Dora refused to leave the Greek Catholic Church and join the Russian Orthodox Church. It was with this condition that they were guaranteed the preservation of the monastery. In the spring of 1947, the Soviet authorities forcibly closed the monastery.
Pre-USSR Martyrs

In a protest against the confiscation of the church, the Greek Catholic community gathered in front of the church, but were fired upon by the Russian forces, killing 13 of the protesters. The Ruthenian Catholic Church has erected a shrine to their memory there

St. Josaphat Kuntsevych

In 1623, he gave his life for his faith. An Orthodox priest assembled a mob in the town, and they came to Josaphat’s residence Josaphat died praying for his attackers. He was beheaded, and his body dumped in a river. He faces unfounded slanderous claims
