How about we vent about the fact that producers who have been practicing for years to get their one break go completely ignored, and some guy who throws together a shitty mix based on a meme gets absolutely skullcrushing amounts of support because of the disposability of content?
I can't count the amount of producers who deserve thousands of followers and millions of streams, but they aren't able to break through the absolute layer of shit that is social media and platforms monetizing people who are already "known" at the expense of those who aren't.
I remember seeing a great thread about the disposability of content on the internet, especially in regards to memes and trends of humor, and how it relates to artists who have, at best, three or four days to capitalize on a meme to build an audience, otherwise it's "too old".
That 100% applies to producers as well. Suddenly just making good music isn't enough, let alone making it for yourself.. You have to have an absolute lightning-in-a-bottle moment to get any sort of attention from "the public" nowadays, otherwise you're more or less screwed.
