if we want to talk about mags that scam writers, let's talk about a mag that publishes work without consent, puts out an issue without names, charges $11 for a cut-and-paste word doc, charges contest fees, disables reviews, ignores concerns, accepts work without reading it, etc.
i was contacted by this mag via twitter dms (which we don't accept) on the perhappened account about two weeks ago, asking how to grow a "quick following." when i didn't respond, they dmed my personal account, and i've been told by other editors that they had similar experiences.
today, i was contacted by many folks who told me they had been scammed by this mag. one had work published they'd been told would NOT be published, one's accepted work was left out, others' work was uncredited. they've made hundreds of dollars in 2 weeks. this is @ViolettheBird1.
adding on to say: have also been told from several of their published chapbook authors that their formatting was completely incorrect upon publication, and it was never run by them. someone had a chapbook put out they had not agreed to. all of this goes beyond unethical behavior.
