Sometimes I do wonder to what degree we dismiss/handwave deep decarbonization of industrial energy as a "last 10-20%" clean energy problem based on a skewed perception, thanks to relatively low European industrial energy use.

Industry is ~40% of India final energy demand.
It's ~50% of total final energy for Japan.
Well over half of final energy demand in China.
Yes a sea of green hydrogen sounds great but maybe we should think a little harder on the CCS side, at least for cement/chemicals?

Postscript: Yes, yes, final energy demand would change with decarbonization and fuel switching, and industry sector emissions =/= process emissions =/= final energy demand, but the point still stands and is worth thinking about!
