Here's why I think bundling newsletters and creating a writers' collective is not just a smart business but also a smart marketing move:
1) Each writer is their own marketing engine and helps power the collective.
An email forwarded by a subscriber showcases both the writer + brand.
A writer appearing as a guest on a podcast represents writer + brand.
As writers market + grow, so does the brand. 1+1 = 3

2) Sharing newsletter editorial and 'admin' resources and costs among many writers' shoulders is smart.
But most importantly it means writers can spend more time on what they're good at: researching and writing.

3) A writers' collective also allows pooled knowledge and testing.
If one writer tests a new content format or gains insight, they can share it amongst colleagues.
It's like having mini-marketing teams experimenting and testing, then convening and sharing.

4) Lastly, a writers' collective can also lend credibility to individual writers who may have lacked this.
Every could easily grow to a @nytimes-like brand that enables access to figures individual writers may not have had by themselves.

I'll continue to be a paying subscriber as a get a lot of value from their insights.
