Just a reminder that you can wear your hair however you like in the real world and it’s always a great day to leave the US Army.

Don't take this as me saying your career doesn't matter, or you don't deserve better standards. You do. But, I chuckle a bit at the youngsters being so excited for the reveal today as we oldsters looked on knowing they were going to fuck it up by the numbers.

Just...don't fall in love with the idea that the military is the only source of purpose and virtue in the world. For the majority of people in uniform, it is a job with a lot of needless hubris about impact attached to it.
