When he was a #SpyCops officer in the 1990s, Coles abused several women, including grooming a vulnerable teenager, @Jessica_me2 , into an ongoing relationship. Here she is on Channel 4 News when the truth was revealed in 2017

Just before the truth came out, Coles endorsed the @childrensociety's Seriously Awkward campaign to protect older teenagers from sexual exploitation, even though he himself is a perpetrator of this.

A Metropolitan Police investigation said Andy Coles would face the most serious disciplinary charges if he were still a serving officer, & they are arranging to compensate @Jessica_me2 for his abuse. Andy Coles created a problem for himself. He denied his abuse of @Jessica_me2 to colleagues. They might accept he abused women years ago but they may be less forgiving if he admits lying to them in the present, so he continues his denials even as the evidence becomes overwhelming

Andy Coles' persistent desire to be involved with vulnerable youngsters is wholly inappropriate for someone with his past. Men who abuse public roles to violate citizens shouldn't be in positions of civic trust. He should not be a councillor, let alone on a children's committee.
