also portnoy and musk and chamath are completely and 100% bad actors right now -- when the bag pops, they won't get hurt but everyone who follows them on the basis of their personality will, and they've got so much less to lose

this is 100% my problem with topshot and crypto pumping -- the ones who have the influence are early and have less to lose and are pumping because it benefits them, not because they have some earnest and altruistic goal in mind

this whole idea of crypto and gme being some big thing to fight the man is so ludicrous, it's just some influencers leveraging status to keep filling the bottom layer with fame-following suckers who will get hurt first

it wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't so disingenuous, it's being presented in this grand uprising and this great thing for the common man and lololol so many memes but it's really just another way of giving more money to those who have influence

just because those in power switches from wall street hedge goons to musk/chamath/crypto influencers doesn't make it a different dynamic, it's still a power continuum except it's got a human face on it

i can't help but draw parallels to trump -- he wouldn't be caught dead in a room with his biggest supporters. yet they love him and would follow him to the edge of earth. why? just because he "speaks his mind"? HE'S CONNING YOU

just because influencers talk like you and post the same memes, that doesn't make them your peer. that doesn't mean they're looking out for you. you're not their friend. you're a means to their financial end -- nothing more
