Some LIVE notes and thoughts from the $PLTR demo:

- COO emphasized key words such as platform, end-to-end, and enterprise rather than a piece of software

- Investor speak with consistent use of generating alpha
- Constant iterative improvement in the product

- A modular approach to solving the customer's needs

- Flexibility to handle changing data models, connectedness, and speed are key differentiators
FOUNDRY Ontology and Simulation Engine

- Central decision support infrastructure

- Automated data connections [ERP layer]

- Visual interface to display connections between data tables within data asset nodes
- Reporting and visualization integrated within the platform

- Collaboration across functions

- User insights are recorded within the Ontology (Operations layer?)
- Out-of-the-box CRM functionality

- [Opinion] Mapping visualization is not quite as aesthetically pleasing as Tableau

- No code configuration capabilities to update mapping visualization
- [Opinion] Configuration looks fairly intuitive in comparison to most other BI tools as a Business Analyst

- Advanced search capabilities and analytical reporting

- System-wide simulation engine to run "what-if" models prior to decision making
- [Opinion] The ambiguous use of the word, models, is incredibly confusing in this presentation. Constantly switching between object models, data models, and ML/AI models

- Supply Chain Resiliency Graph Image (Seen below)
- [Opinion] The simulation capabilities seem like the most promising feature (and differentiator) seen so far.

- No code capabilities to integrate to data sources

- Data Connection View is below
- OOTB use case templates to build workflows ("Use case catalogue")

- Future Product Improvements: Mobile offering

- [Opinion] Dashboard capabilities are similar to most other BI tools
- [Opinion] The mobile offering looks like a promising differentiator, especially as remote work takes off

- Security controls at the data source level

- Security controls via time-limited share spaces
- ML model performance dashboard views

- Computer vision example seen below
- [Opinion] Gathering requirements for a $PLTR FOUNDRY implementation must be a massive undertaking. So many modules and capabilities that you need to discuss to tackle different problems. ML/AI models, simulations, supply chain modeling, CRM capabilities, etc.
GOTHAM Demo - $PLTR

- The GOTHAM interface includes real time information alerts and impressive mapping views for critical defense missions
- [Opinion] GOTHAM mapping looks more intuitive than the FOUNDRY end-user views. It resembles software seen in defense intelligence movies.

- Themes: Understand. Decide. Act.

- GOTHAM is deployed at the edge - on vehicles, sensors, etc.

- GOTHAM is a modular platform
- Faster performance and real-time updates because it runs at the edge

- AI models are running on the mapping software behind the scenes

- [Question] Are the AI models analyzing satellite imagery using computer vision to estimate the geolocation of objects?
APOLLO - $PLTR product

- Autonomous management of edge devices

- Lifecycle management of ML models

- Fast onboarding of new customers

- [Opinion] "Developers can roll out new features to customers quickly." Isn't this the same as any cloud software product?
- Infrastructure agnostic with respect to cloud providers

- [Opinion] ^^^ That is a differentiator

- [Opinion] They claim SaaS like margins. This seems unlikely with the extremely cumbersome onboarding timeline. Could they outsource to 3rd parties for implementation onboarding?
SUMMARY of $PLTR Demo

- Tons of marketing and investor speak, but a high-quality demo in terms of presentation

- [Opinion] Differentiators are the simulation engine, cloud-agnostic, mobile capabilities, and an impressive mapping software w/ AI models for defense intelligence.
