the abuse of language and its total debasement is a problem. all complex stratified societies have 'higher religion' but also espouse materialist/secular strands. e.g., india => carvaka, rome => skeptics/atomists/epicureans, in the islamic world men like al-maari, china, xunzi https://twitter.com/fred_connection/status/1354176313595195396
my father was born just before partition a british subject. he lived under a generation of colonization by west pakistan of east pakistan.

i have no idea wtf 'decolonize' means expect some ppl think it's good. speaking as someone whose family were colonized in living memory
and speaking as someone whose family WERE colonizers. we were tax farmers. some of my distant ancestors came from the region around delhi to tax peasants teach them islam
i try to ignore this shit and focus on my life. read books on interesting topics to me. BUT YOU CAN'T IGNORE IT. the language just starts creeping and closing in and next thing you know the words which define your family's recent past are totally unrecognizable

i need ESL
where do i stand on decolonization? it's good. no more racism for my grandparents. under pakistan, no more racism for my parents! sucks mom had to get shot by mistake, my more creative relatives were shot in the head by the pak military

that's what i think about 'decolonization'
i mean i get it. different contexts. but when friends ask about something getting 'decolonized' you gotta understand i think of millions dying in partition and my mom getting almost shot to death.

it's fine. just give me a fucking dictionary so i can understand you ppl
