I will reiterate my irritation: I am ticked off that the state did not use all the power vested in it to stop anarchy. That is it. Nothing more, nothing less.
It is not about one group vs another - that is a separate storyline. It is about a Sovereign state and its inability to neuter inimical forces in its soil. Some enemies don't deserve due process, because they seek to subvert it.
Think about what China did to Jack Ma for a wrong word at the wrong place. Here we see an intense reluctance from the Indian state [yes, IPS and IAS included] to deal with even proven threats in the same way. Somehow, we are told, those who spit on the country are better.
Police did this, police did that .. Home Minister did this - did that .. or didn't do that.

Why are the ideological enemies of Indian sovereign state - the Khalistanis, the Kashmiri Islamists, and Naxalites -- still alive? Why aren't they in a re-education camp?
I think that is the biggest shortcoming of the Indian state. It tolerates what shouldn't be tolerated.
No - this is not about BJP or INC. I do think NDA govt has done a tremendous job on the NatSec front overall. However, this is a general weakness of Indian State - all arms of it. Indian State actually fears those who actually can cause it harm.
And a final thought: when I say "control the anarchy", I don't mean today. There is **no** way this could have gone any differently today. However, the trajectory of what happened today, could have been interfered with earlier and this could have been avoided. Alas!
