I’m seeing a lot of HPCSA tweets.. and the only thing I want to add is that the apartheid death doctor is still registered with the HPCSA despite being a literal criminal. And I hate that about that specific governing body
Even 3 specific doctors that I know personally were charged with sexual harassment of medical students, interns and patients. The HPCSA gave them a warning, hospital gave them paid leave (6 months if I’m not mistaken) but all three of them are still employed
I personally believe everyone should report any doctor to the HPCSA if they feel it’s valid. I just hate how the HPCSA is way too lenient on very serious matters.
A group of us reported one of the sexual harassment doctors, he got suspended for 6 months (paid) then came back and reminded us he could ruin our careers 🙃 he sits on one of the registrar exam boards, so this isn’t a lie
So, as a doctor, I personally hope the HPCSA at least investigate what those who are complaining would like them to investigate. And then explain how they let other doctors get away with being apartheid criminals and sexual harassment
