Having $X in your bank account vs. $X invested

The former will give you a sense of comfort

But it’ll also make you complacent, possibly kill your drive, and the money won’t compound

The latter will make you feel broke

But will keep you hungry and grow your money faster
If you have $500k in your bank account and you’re single

You’ll live a good quality life (short-term) without worrying about paying bills

You won’t ever really need to check your account balance

Life seems easy

You get used to a comfortable life

This is detrimental to growth
If you take that $500k and invest it

You’re broke in terms of cash on hand

It’ll force you to keep increasing cash flow

You’ll never fully feel comfortable

BUT

Your money will grow fast

It’ll compound and the increased cash flow will make your investments even larger
