These include having a parent or family member with a substance abuse problem or an untreated mental health diagnosis or mental health challenge.
4/7. Losing a parent due to death or separation or divorce as well as having a family member who is in jail or prison are also considered Adverse Childhood Experiences. #TopicalTuesday
5/7. The Pair of ACEs study showed that there was a relationship between ACEs and an increased risk of neurological, physiological, psychological and social difficulties in adulthood. #TopicalTuesday
6/7. The study also showed that there was a connection between Adverse Childhood Experiences and negative health outcomes.

This means that the more ACEs a person had, the higher their risk for negative health outcomes.
