Hot take: pitting Clone Wars/Rebels against one another to determine which is “better” is fruitless. They excel for different reasons.
TCW shows how expansive Star Wars is by employing an anthology format
Rebels shows how intimate Star Wars is by focusing on a particular family

Similarly, those narrative frameworks impact the individual episodes.
Rebels is the more *consistent* example of storytelling. It doesn’t hit the “highs” of TCW (though it comes close) but it doesn’t hit the “lows” either.
Both styles should be appreciated.

Further, while some TCW arcs are more effective than others, we instinctively pit the arcs against one another because of this narrative format, & it keeps us from appreciating certain arcs for what they do bring (if you watch w/o cynicism, the Droid Arc has some great content).
The storytelling in The Clone Wars & Rebels is different, & fans may have personal preferences.
But both are examples of Star Wars stories being told with integrity. Neither should be judged as insufficient because it doesn’t fulfill a narrative priority held by the other show.
