I was 26 years old, making $240k a year & left my job to pursue entrepreneurship

A thread on why I did this
1. I Mastered Cold Calling

People talk about cold emailing & I scoff. Let's jump in the boiler room & I'll show you a thing or two about conversions

Your rent is due?
Pick up the phone

You want to travel to hawaii?
Pick up the phone
Now let me get one thing straight - on the enterprise level i.e. the CMO of Starbucks likely will not pick up the phone, so in that scenario, cold emailing is effective

But

On the local level, cold calls, all day, everyday

Master cold calling, you wont regret it
2. Tired of Selling Another Mans Dream

There's 3 steps in business
1. have a product
2. win business
3. retain business

I had 2 locked down, knew I could learn 3, just needed to figure out 1

1 ultimately became my mind & the business ventures it could produce
3. Digital Real Estate

I was building a personal brand online, & simply put, this made me unemployable

Providing for my tribe became more important to me than hitting my quota
4. Needing Coffee

I wake up ready to win the day, not because it's a job, but because it's a passion

I knew I needed to leave my job the moment I had to start drinking coffee on a recurring basis to "grind" out the day
5. Corporate BS

I worked for start ups, big corps, & even from home - it's all the same

Watch what you say
Be here at 7am to talk about some irrelevant shit
Work with X
I want the autonomy to

Say what I want, when I want

Create my own schedule

& work with people I like working with

Plain & simple
6. 100x Return

When you have a job, you have a salary, make a bonus, & maybe some commissions too

When you build a business, you create cash flow & intrinsic value

I can now sell what I build for a multiple & create other businesses

My old job? Worthless as my resume
7. Twitter

I saw people doing things & having great success

Should you listen to every influencer on twitter? No

But... if you feel you can do what they're doing, only better, why not try?

I did & it worked out
