Repentance gets a bad wrap. Many of us who grew up in Church have baggage associated with that word.

But it’s not a “turn or burn” kind of thing. You don’t need to picture an angry preacher spit-yelling “repent” at you.

Repenting is changing your mind.

So when Jesus says, “repent, and believe in the good news,” this should lift our spirits not dash them. The good news is that Jesus has come to show us what God is really like: all love, all the time; mercy and grace overflowing.
