A thread on local economies:

Question: How do we fight the wicked powers of the central banks, federal reserve, and the evil of our current fiat system of money?

The good news: Communities of productive, Christian households are the boogeyman that keep them up at night.

First, you need to get this: The whole system is aimed at slavery—it's meant to put every citizen in a state of perpetual serfdom.

It's feudalism.

In a feudalistic system, the rulers enslave the masses to tenant status, demanding their honor, obeisance, and their profits.

2/16
So the feudalist goal is to make everyone tenants of the crown—to keep them pouring their labor, not into building their own houses, but into the king's house.

It's about keeping the peasants as renters, never owners.

How does this work in our current system?

3/16
First, money.

The crown has debased the coin—actually, eliminated the coin in any meaningful way.

Your money has nothing of any value behind it. In fact, it's literally created on the basis, not of real, valuable things... but on debt!

4/16
The crown makes more money out of thin air by a convoluted mechanism that essentially boils down to creating debt. This is why the national debt exists.

As they do this, they levy a hidden tax on every single citizen—inflation.

This is the least fair tax of all:

5/16
Every dollar they print makes every other dollar worth less. This is especially targets those who actually save their money—debasing their savings.

This inflationary money-creation is the mechanism by which the crown gets most of the money it spends, not direct taxes.

6/16
Worse, it's not sustainable.

As the crown prints more and more fiat money, the inflation is likely to go up, possibly even run away entirely and make the currency practically worthless.

So how do we fight back against this perpetual theft? Three words: Own real things.

7/16
Own real things—but especially *productive* things.

Start businesses.
Buy gold and silver.
Invest in land.
Make that land productive.
Buy rental property.

I can't tell you what opportunities and skills that you have. Get creative. Work hard. Be you to God's glory.

8/16
But that's not enough. We also have to refuse debt. Debt is the cornerstone of our modern feudalism. It is what keeps you a slave of their system.

So simply: Get out of it.

No more excuses. Repent of the consumerist mentality that keeps us willing serfs.

9/16
Now, maybe the most important part: You can't do this alone. It is simply not possible.

The great need is not mere households. It is households of households. It is the local church—which ought to be the ultimate productive household.

Here's what we're working on in UT:

10/16
1. Encouraging godly marriages by teaching biblical anthropology, sex roles, fruitful marriage beds, etc. We are gloriously patriarchal and pro-kid.

2. Starting a school to see those kids brought up in the whole of Christ for every domain of human existence.

11/16
3. Working to encourage men to start productive things, get their wives home, and fight the loser mentality that says, "But houses are expensive," or "But jobs are hard to find."

So? Make one.
You're a Christian man.
The Lord is with you.
Read the Proverbs.

12/16
4. Thinking through how to foster and connect local economy on every level.

This front is particularly compelling. The question we're trying to answer is basically, "How do we build a whole, sustainable local economy insofar as possible?"

It's daunting, but doable.

13/16
List skills present in your community. Foster business between community members. Encourage young men to fill gaps in your trade/services.

"We could use a solid plumber."

"Bill's son may be interested in pursuing that trade. Let's get together and pay for his training."

14/16
Over generations, you can get a whole lot done with this simple process.

5. Some of the men who are further down the road in productive property are considering starting a bank that deals only in metals as a hedge against inflation, accessible to the whole community.

15/16
And none of this is retreatist—no, as you build out your local economy, you are colonizing and invading the current one.

As you invade the economy, you must also invade they idols of that space: Preach the gospel. Bring it to the public square.

May God bless his people.
