it feels extremely weird that there's still a public debate within the hockey community and sports community more broadly as to whether it's cool to support a company that openly engages racist, misogynistic trolling as part of its branding
not to mention the anti-union and anti-worker stuff, but here we are. we wrote a piece about this a few months ago but decided not to publish it because we didn't want to deal with the targeted harassment just to basically restate others' quality reporting on b*rst**l.
players with both the PWHPA and the NWHL have repeatedly promoted b*rst**l and their associated accounts on social media, which begs the question that if players and other team staff think the company is cool and good, why wouldn't an official association be out of the question?
and here is what we wrote in the unpublished article about how players' frequent interactions with b*rst**l on social seem to contradict public/official stances that women's hockey teams and leagues have made about being inclusive (image description includes the text)
if you go looking for certain players' interactions with b*rst**l and associated accounts today, like erika's or the token ceo podcast, a lot of stuff has been deleted. you can make of that what you will.
