2- @YediotAhronot: Already 6 months ago, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi gave instructions to prepare a "battle procedure" for an attack that would prevent Iran from a nuclear breakout.
3- @YediotAhronot: To facilitate readiness for an attack and its consequences, Kochavi requesting additional NIS 3 Billion, in addition to NIS 4 Billion IDF requesting against budgetary deficits. In the shadow of the new US administration, Netanyahu and Gantz support the request
4- @YediotAhronot: This amount is just the minimum requested, to prep the IAF for readiness on the Iranian issue. Netanyahu and Gantz are supportive, in light of lack of knowledge until now of developments between Iran, Biden administration, if any
5- @YediotAhronot: Kochavi already begun "battle procedure" for potential attack in Iran - a structured process from defining the mission, planning, until execution. Kochavi knows his exact needs, since striking Iran likely means war in north and possibly south

7- @YediotAhronot: Kochavi's decision to proceed w/"battle prodecure" for possible attack in Iran already taken around Spring 2020, when it became clear Iranians reached very advanced stage of developing new generation of faster centrifuges for enriching uranium
8- @YediotAhronot: These centrifuges - IR-6, IR-8, IR-10 - can enrich uranium 6,even 10, times as fast as old P-2 centrifuges used by the Iranians until then(based on technology, components Iran bought from Pakistani nuclear scientist AQ Khan
9- @YediotAhronot: new centrifuges significantly shorten, by many months, "breakout to a bomb" - time from decision to make bomb until accumulating sufficient amount (28 kg) of uranium enriched to 90%, which is fissile material for 1 nuclear warhead at power of Hiroshima bomb
10- @YediotAhronot: Members of Iran's nuclear project even installed several such centrifuges at Natanz and began operating them. In July, most of them were destroyed in explosion attributed to Israel.
11- @YediotAhronot: Development of new Iranian centrifuges and installation has raised concern in Israel, because it allows Iran to present world and Israel w/fait accompli: that it has nukes, or ability to produce them within weeks, like North Korea
