Umineko was a life-changing experience. It has opened my eyes and has made me realize that I want to face others and life in general in a very different way.

Its motto is "without love it cannot be seen" and that's something I want to apply in my day to day from now on.
#Umineko
It can seem corny without context, but it has a powerful and universal message behind it: each person has their own circumstances, way of perceiving life and feelings towards it and that's something we shouldn't judge without knowing the full picture.
Umineko cast is a really good example of this, when we start the vn we perceive them in a very negative light, "all" their flaws come to light and we create an image of them based on that. But as the story progress we see more of their facets and we begin to understand them.
Don't get me wrong though, they're very flawed humans, some of them aren't even good people and their actions are quite reprehensible. But this motto is not about forgiving them, it's about trying to understand others and not jumping into conclusions.
Humans are very complex beings and each person is their own world with its own rules and we have to accept this, we mustn't force others to view or live life as we want. Our truth is important, but so it is theirs, no matter how much we differ.
Aside from the message I want to say that this story and its characters mean the world to me. Seeing how they struggle, love and strive to survive was very inspiring and heartbreaking.
I adore and despise them, but they're if not the best cast I have seen, one of them.
I want to highlight some characters despite being (almost) all amazingly written:
Battora and Beato are now my top 3-4 fav characters oat. I can't believe that they exist. Their dynamic, personalities and flaws make me feel inmensively proud and dead at the same time.
Maria is my sun and one of the reasons Umineko has made me cry so much. She is just a child with a really tragic life that decides to face it in the best way she can to be able to keep smiling. How she keeps being positive and happy despite everything is just admirable.
If I have to describe Ange in one word is uplifting. Her journey is difficult to witness and can be really frustrating at some points, but seeing her moving on and changing her perspective in life is what inspired me to do it too.
I am very grateful for her existence.
And the last and the worst is my favourite rat: Erika. She is the most enjoyable character without a shred of doubt. Every time she is on screen I want to curse her, but how she works as a foil for the rest of the cast and her subtle development make me love her wholeheartedly.
To finish this thread I want to say that Umineko is a mystery story and that trying to solve it is half of the enjoyment, but that's not everything to it. The way you approach its characters and the story is what matters the most. You need to put heart on it.
I forgot to say that Umineko is one of the easiest 10/10s out there and that it has become my top 4-5 favourite media.

No words, no matter how much I write about it will be able to show how much this story means to me.

Thank you, Ryukishi, for writing it.
