Both were lead gen sites for car loans in Canada
We were getting great results for the first account so when the new account onboarded we had a playbook to work from
Both sites were essentially the same deal, landing page with a quiz flow to segment the leads

Very similar design, like typical comparison websites
When we set up the new account, all of the Facebook metrics were in the same ball park but the cost per lead was 50%+ higher
The first account just ticked along like normal whilst we struggled to make this new one profitable

Same targeting, same type of ad copy, similar creatives, same basic funnel structure, very close cost per click
But one was 50% more expensive to get leads...
The only difference was the design and branding of the website
