Before I met my wife, I had a series of bad relationships. All of us in the relationships were toxic to each other.
Even as a born again, tongue talking, demon casting believer having abundant encounters, I was very ignorant about identifying the right relationship from the wrong

Infact I was in the class of those who did 'evangelical dating'. I remember how consumed I was in my emotions in a particular relationship that God clearly warned me to leave but I did my best 'to convince God' that I could make her different in a short while
, that didn't work!
, that didn't work!
Worse of all is the time we spent together affected both of us emotionally & psychologically. We let our emotions rule over wisdom and counsel. This was so bad especially for me because the bad experiences of the past gradually began to creep into my marriage
It took good counsel to help my wife and I begin to get the very best of our relationship.
The saddest truth is, if I had continued in that relationship I would never have walked half way into God's plan for me because looking in retrospect we were on different paths in life.

We were not just doing different things,we actually believed different things.
It's not enough that you two have strong emotions towards eachother but with purpose in view can you work together?as believers is he or she equally yoked with you? Can you pair your strongest values ?

These and many more are questions to answer before committing to someone for life.
It can be very difficult identifying if you are in a wrong relationship.
