A quick thread about what my team do. I am so proud.
I've just been looking at the @supportCHAS monthly impact report showing the difference children's hospice care makes for families.

I've just been looking at the @supportCHAS monthly impact report showing the difference children's hospice care makes for families.
Because of lockdown, the hospice buildings are for urgent care only, but even with restrictions they are open for end-of-life care and vital respite for families with complex lives. In addition, staff and volunteers are in children's homes, hospitals and being a virtual lifeline.
Our hospice at home nurses provide day-time and overnight care in children's own homes, including towards the end of life.
We worked with @MarieCurieSCO to support an older child to be at home, as well as with @NHSScotland colleagues across Scotland.

In hospitals, our joint CHAS / NHS medical and nursing teams supported families with palliative care, including transferring young babies to hospice. With @NordoffRobbins1 we arranged music therapy on the wards. And helped children come home from hospital for Christmas. #magic
Our specialist family support staff & volunteers have been working with families at home, including putting on a panto (oh no they didn't!), therapeutic art and crafting sessions for parents, and help with money advice.
And we held a beautiful candlelit service from Ardoch to remember children who have died.
(Thanks to @RSNO and musicians for taking part.)

All this is only possible because of the generosity people show to @supportCHAS. Thank you for the kindness you give and the difference you help make. #KeepTheJoyAlive #ThisIsHospice
