#AustraliaDay is stupid and evil thread:

In 1770 Captain Cook planted a flag in the land that was already occupied by the people who had discovered it 60,000 years before.

The word Australia wasn’t invented until 1803.

Captain Cook was told to be sure that the country wasn't populated and if it was to tell the Royals so they could send someone to negotiate. Cook said there was no one because he didn't see Indigenous people as human.

So Cook planted the flag of the British Empire.

Because of this event indigenous people were inslaved and genocide happened. They used to rape them, they set up hunts to track and kill them through the bush with rifles, they even brought them back to England to gawk at.

The UK has become over populated and they needed a new land to send what they called undesirables: The Irish, Scottish, and the poor of England to. For the small offence of stealing a slice of bread you could be made into a convict white slave.

Australia Day is a strange and evil thing to celebrate on 26 January. The people who built Australia long before it was called that, our ancestors from the UK were slaves of The British Empire. They had to send stuff back to England for them to enjoy.

Australia Day is a day of invasion. Because Cook didn’t see the Indigenous people as human there was no negotiation by the British Empire. They sent ships of soldiers and convicts. Some convicts the really bad ones were even allowed guns to hunt the Indigenous people of Tasmania.
Eventually they turned them into police who got to hunt PEOPLE on the mainland. Several governors used to hunt indigenous people too.

After hundreds of years we finally decided to become our own nation and stop British rule on 1 Jan 1901. This is when Australia was born. Not the day that we celebrate from 1770.

Now personally I believe that we should sign a treaty with the indigenous people who never surrendered or sold this land to us. Once we sign the treaty we should make that day our day of celebration!
