Senate Democrats filibustered the GOP COVID relief bill multiple times last year b/c they didn't think it was good enough. @RashidaTlaib is proposing that bill should have passed outright, without any recourse from the minority.
The filibuster is designed to force consensus -- to force the parties to work together to come to agreement. This doesn't happen in the Senate less b/c of the filibuster itself, but because the parties don't want to do the hard work of negotiation and deliberation.
Basically, it's easier to scream & finger point than engage the parliamentary and deliberative process for which the Senate is designed. It's an institution that has become extremely lazy. "NUKE THE FILIBUSTER!1!!" is an argument of laziness.
