This is a great drill for hitters with swing depth/direction issues that forces them to “create space” with the lower body and maintain their posture throughout their swing.
We have a lot of things going on here, so let’s break each constraint down on a fundamental level.

👇👇👇👇
First:

@LuisaGauci is set up in an offset open stance. We’re using this drill to work on the load phase. More specifically coiling/loading into the back hip to load the posterior chain which will help her to control the forward move/stride phase
Second:

We’re using a short bat to one, force her to use torso rotation to slot the barrel deeper in the hitting zone, rather than manipulate the bat with her arms/hands and to stay “connected” in the downswing and throughout the turn
Third:

We’re rocking two tees. The inside tee is slightly higher and slightly further out in front. The whole purpose here is swing direction. The inside tee gives you no choice but to keep the bat through the zone forever. If she loses posture/pulls off, the barrel will sweep
Across the hitting zone and since she’s swinging a short bat, she’s going to completely miss the baseball, torch the inside tee and will likely corkscrew herself into the ground.

Trust me...I’ve seen it happen...

(I’m talking to you @AndrewAydt)
I’m a huge fan of using an inside tee for all kinds of drills In all types of environments. It’s obviously difficult, but works really well with front toss, BP and machine swings.

Just make sure your BP thrower is as good as old mike. @Joney93
