This will be a long thread.
With the cards being laid onto the table from all sides - it's worth reminding people about the reality of where we find ourselves right now in relation to a National Second Division.

The @AAFClubs Working Group has put forward financial workings (which has been the main argument against a NSD from naysayers) about the viability of a second division. They're backed by industry research as well as current club financials and modest projections.
There is NO legitimate reason for @FootballAUS or the A-league teams to block, stall, obfuscate or pervert the intent of the NSD as outlined in the report. The clubs are confident they can make it happen, are prepared to fully fund the competition and take on the risk.
If @FootballAUS does not come to an agreement about the criteria of a national second division and take applications this year then something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
For all the statements about unity of purpose, the football family, transfer fees, XI principles and everything in between - unless @FootballAUS acts decisively and boldly soon then it is clear that they are hell bent on doing all it can to stop a second division.
I've been personally involved in football administration since 2007 and talk of a second division has been a constant topic, a far away land, a dream and a hope. Since then we've gone from hope to consensus among nearly all stratas of the sport.
There is a limit to how long people can remain engaged and hopeful before they walk away in disgust. This was what they were banking on during the Lowy era. The subtle calls are now screams for a second division.
It's time to unleash, unshackle and breathe life into the sport we love by healing old wounds, providing new opportunities and actually unifying the sport into a football family. #2ndDivNow
Finally - Happy Australia Day to you all
